YMCA to offer FREE Healthy Kids Day, 1-Mile Fun Run and Open Swim on April 22
Parkview Huntington Family YMCA is hosting the 2023 Healthy Kids Day and a FREE Fun Run on Saturday, April 22, 2023.
The one mile Fun Run / Walk is free to the community and kicks off at 8:45amfrom the YMCA.
The Fun Run course will be completed around the Crestview Middle School campus. We ask that participants not bring dogs to the race. Registration is required but the Fun Run / Walk is free to participants. Racers and walkers may register for the events on the YMCA website at www.huntingtony.org (under “register”) or by calling the Y at 260-359-9622. Race day registration will also be available.
In addition to the race on April 22, the Y is also hosting their annual FREE Healthy Kids Day in the Y gymnasium and is open to all community members. Healthy Kids Day offers a Community Connections EXPO with booths from area agencies from 9:00am until noon, free Lions Club Vision Screenings from 9:00am-11:00am, program presentations and entertainment from 9:30am through 12:00pm, and open swimming from 12:00pm until 2:00pm. Open swim is free to the community but requires registration to attend. Door prizes will be given during the EXPO.
As April 22 is also Earth Day, attendees are encouraged to bring canned food items or garden seed packets to commemorate the day and earn more raffle tickets at the EXPO.
Lastly, to help celebrate the event, interested community members can join the Huntington YMCA with $0 join fee on April 22 nd . This is a savings of $75.
“The Y is excited to offer this day of events that promotes fun and fitness” says YMCA CEO, Todd Latta. “We encourage community members to grab a few friends, coworkers or family members and sign up to join us for the fun run and the afternoon open swim as well as stopping in the gym to take part in all Healthy Kids Day activities.”
