The Active Older Adults program is holding its Winter Silver Bowl competition for two Fridays in February from 9:00am – 12:00pm with participants choosing competitions to compete in. On the first day of competition, February 7, participants can participate in a 1 mile walk, euchre tournament, Wii bowling and corn hole. On February 14 the competitions and activities will include 1 mile walk, pickle ball tournament, basketball free throws and water walking. Snacks and lunch will be provided each of the competition days by the supporting sponsors. There is no cost to attend and participate; however, registration is required and may be completed by calling (260) 359-9622 or stopping by the YMCA.
The Active Older Adults program supports Huntington YMCA members in the age range of 50 years old and older (or any age range who would like to participate). In addition to competitions like the winter Silver Bowl there are a variety of activities and outings offered two to four days per week often at low-cost or no-cost to YMCA members. Silver Bowl competitions are typically held two times each year, once in the winter and another time in the summer. Major supporters of the Silver Bowl are Heritage Pointe of Huntington, Millers Merry Manor Huntington and Humana Health Insurance.
