The Crestview Lady Cougars wrapped up regular season play on Tuesday, with a home tilt against conference foe Bellmont, on a night filled with festivities.
Crestview's annual recognition of its 8th grade athletes took place between the 7th and 8th grade contests, as well at the game serving as a "Future Cougar Night".
With the crowd packed with students from Crestview's feeder schools of Lincoln, Roanoke and Flint Springs, both Cougar teams seemed to feed off the extra excitement and jumped out to early leads in route to decisive victories.
Led by Reece Bonewitz's 12 points, the seventh graders secured a 31-5 win. Corinne Martz finished with 8 points, Sophia Scheer totaled 7 and Abby Grube chipped in 4.
The 7th graders closed out their pre tourney play with a 7-5 record.
The 8th graders were paced Emma Szelis with 9 points on 3 of 3 shooting from three point range. Their balanced attack saw 9 more girls enter the scoring column as Emma Holzinger and Alyse Geiger each had 7, Kianna Jennings 5, Adrianna Nightenhelser 4 , Mallory Kline 3 and Avery Bomewitz, Kaylee Brooks, Grace Vaught and Hannah Szelis each finished with 2 in a 43-8 win.
The 8th graders closed the regular season with a 9-3 record.
Both teams begin conference tourney play next Monday against the winner of Thursday's Riverview vs. Harding games
